Travis Shaffer

Travis Shaffer (b. 1983, Pennsylvania) lives and works in Lawrence, Kansas where he is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas. His photographs and artist’s books have been exhibited in solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, and artist’s book fairs throughout the US, Canada and Europe. Recent events include a performance / book-signing at the NYABF : MoMA’s PS1, ABC/POD; Printed Matter in Chelsea, and systeMY at Imaginarium Gallery in Lodz, Poland. Shaffer also recently recorded a podcast lecture for #PHONAR – Coventry University in Coventry, England titled “We Are All Thieves, Right”, concerning photographic reproduction, meaning, and authorship. Shaffer received an MFA from the University of Kentucky (2010) and is a member of the Artist’s Books Cooperative, a group of international artists working with Print-on-demand technologies.
