Christa Donner

Chicago-based artist Christa Donner uses a wide range of media to examine the human body and our relationships to it through sensation and imagination. Her most recent work investigates questions about the role of biology in culture, building from the social structures of wasps, bacteria, and other organisms to imagine new anatomies driving symbiotic human societies. Donner’s drawings, installations and zines are widely exhibited internationally, including projects for the Museum Bellerive (Zurich, Switzerland), BankART NYK (Yokohama, Japan), the ANTI Festival (Kuopio, Finland), Kravets-Wehby Gallery (New York, NY), POST (Los Angeles, CA), the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (Cleveland, OH), The International Museum of Surgical Science (Chicago, IL) and the Centro Columbo Americano (Medellin, Colombia).
