JC Steinbrunner is a Chicago-based artist with a studio in the Northcenter/Ravenswood Corridor neighborhoods. He received his degree in Painting and English from Washington University in St. Louis. The “Mountains and Cities” series is about recapturing the emotive and sensory experience of a landscape by overlaying multiple interpretations of “scapes”—representational, cartographic, physical, abstract—within one painted object. Also, he runs The Salon Series project which brings artists and audiences together to discuss cultural affairs over dinner and drinks.
