Kate Daughdrill is an artist living and working in Detroit. She received a BA in Printmaking and Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Kate is the co-founder of Detroit SOUP, a public dinner that funds micro-grants for creative projects in Detroit. She is currently working with Mira Burack and the Osborn neighborhood to build the Edible Hut, a community space with a living, edible roof in a public park in Detroit. She also recently bought a house on her block in Detroit and is working with Charlie O’Geen to transform it into a giant dinner table. Lately, she has been into cooking really simply, sawzalls, bookmaking, and planning her garden based on what flowers she want to wear in her hair this summer.
