Susan Kimball is originally from Seal Beach, CA and now lives and works in Chicago. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in May 2012. She also participated in the ACRE residency this summer.
“Through material manipulation, I create a language of power and submission. Sensuous textures and forms almost distract from the disrupted states of the objects, allowing a dialogue of subtle brutality to form. They are glimpses into the boundary between help and hinder.”
