Andi Crist

Andi Crist was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1988. She received her BFA from Columbia College in 2011 and currently co-manages Autotelic, a community studio space catering to a small group of Chicago artists. Crist’s work is anchored in the use of found material and appropriated imagery. These elements are intuitively processed and repurposed to challenge the relationships between the objects and their contextual roots. Crist’s collage and xerox work focus on exploring formal visual techniques such as balance, line, and form. Crist has exhibited work at the Averill and Bernard Leviton A+D Gallery, the Hokin Gallery, The Perch and C33 Gallery. She currently lives and works in Chicago with her partner Evan Carrison and their son Ollie.
